In 1998, Rose Reed identified an opportunity in Newport, Oregon, when a Lazerquick® franchise location became available for purchase. At the time, the business had limited sales but strong potential for growth. With prior entrepreneurial experience and knowledge of the Lazerquick® system, Rose moved forward with a partnership to acquire and rebuild the business into a sustainable local operation.
The Lazerquick® franchise officially opened in Newport in September 1999. Drawing on Rose’s leadership and industry experience, along with the support of knowledgeable staff, the transition was smooth and the business experienced significant improvement during its first year. Over time, the company expanded its services, invested in new equipment and software, and adapted to ongoing changes in print and production technology, becoming a trusted resource in the Newport business community.
After more than twelve years of joint operation, Rose assumed full ownership at the end of 2012, allowing the business to continue under unified leadership. In 2018, a serious health event required a shift in daily operations, and Rose’s son, Charles, stepped in to manage the business’s day-to-day activities. Charles quickly adapted, ensuring continuity and stability during a critical period.
Over the following years, Rose and Charles worked together to maintain and grow the business. This collaboration ultimately led to a full transition of ownership to Charles, allowing Rose to retire while the business continued forward under new leadership.
Today, the company reflects a multi-generational legacy built on resilience, adaptability, and long-term commitment to serving the Newport community.
